Saif Powertec Limited, a public limited company has made a contribution of Tk2 crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund to help fight the outbreak of coronavirus.All the employees of the company contributed their one-day salary amounting to Tk65 lakh and the rest of the amount was provided from the company’s own fund, said a press release.Managing Director of Saif Powertec Limited Tarafder Md Ruhul Amin on Wednesday handed over the donation cheque to the principal secretary of the prime minister Ahmad Kaikaus.Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also attended the donation handover ceremony through a video conference. Saif Powertec believes this donation will help implement the steps taken by the prime minister to combat the coronavirus pandemic in Bangladesh.Earlier, the company engaged in power and material handling solutions, distributed relief materials among day labourers working in the terminals of the Chittagong port.
